Flow of the raw materials

Determine the placement and the flow of the raw materials, components used to make the product.

• Procurement: manage and negotiate the acquisition of resources (inputs) used to assemble the mainframe computer. For example components, raw materials and equipment. Ensures resources that are required are in the right place at the right time and right cost.

• Inbound Logistics: handle and store inputs. For example warehousing of the raw materials, stock control and inbound transport.

• Operations: convert inputs to output. For example staff, materials, and machines used to assemble the mainframe computer.

• Outbound Logistics: deliver the actual product (output), when it leaves the organization. For example the transport and storage of mainframes.
